Be prepared. From time to time there will be days when you are unmotivated. During these days you won’t feel like going to the gym, taking a walk, or riding your bike. You will want to eat food that you know is not good for you. You will encounter plateaus and distractions and you may even become frustrated. This is all completely normal. Just keep moving forward. Ultimately the only person who will motivate you is you, but be willing to accept some help along the way.
Share your quest with others whether they may be a personal trainer, a training partner, a friend, or someone at work. Find systems that provide on-line accountability that invite your partner to participate. Other tools that help to create your program and track results are very helpful. Holding yourself accountable and incorporating the idea that reaching your goals is not a short term plan, but a year long plan. This establishes a framework that achieving your fitness goals a foregone conclusion, and you are just along for the ride - with support!
